Typology and Methodological Framework of Kazakh Linguocultural Units

This article examines the typology of linguocultural units—one of the key objects of linguoculturology—and the methods used to study them, within the framework of the interrelation between language and culture. The main focus of the study is the formation of culturally salient units in linguistic consciousness (including phraseological units, concepts, symbols, nationally marked vocabulary, and precedent units), as well as the mechanisms of their semantic, pragmatic, and cognitive interaction. The study systematizes definitions of linguocultural units, clarifies their status at the interface of language and culture, and outlines the principles underlying their classification. The relevance of the topic is determined by the need to explain how linguocultural units are organized in linguistic consciousness in contemporary multicultural and multilingual societies, which semantic links become dominant, and through which mechanisms the interaction between language and culture is realized. In addition, the paper describes the potential of comparative, cognitive, semantic, discourse, and ethnolinguistic methods in the study of linguocultural units and demonstrates their effectiveness for culturally oriented interpretation of linguistic data. The results contribute to the development of linguoculturological theory, support culturally informed analysis of linguistic evidence, and may also be applied in language teaching and intercultural communication.
